MAG Chair Collection
A soft welcome with a bold structure
The creation of MAG is rooted in an dialogue between Mazo’s experienced Head of Design, Magnus Sangild, and emerging designer Daniel Nguyen. Their collaboration draws from the shokunin–deshi tradition, the Japanese relationship between master and apprentice, and the Vietnamese thầy-trò model, where humility and curiosity meet responsibility and guidance. From this dynamic came a design that is both poetic and practical: soft but defined, elegant but grounded, robust yet easy to live with. The MAG Chair reflects not only a meeting of minds but a shared ambition to create something that truly fits into the diverse lives we lead today.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Magnus Sangild & Vúóng Kim Daniel
Magnus Sangild, Head of Design and Partner in Mazo, discovered his passion for design at a young age. At 16, he began his creative journey by entering an apprenticeship as a cabinetmaker. After gaining experience and earning the title of craftsman, Magnus swiftly advanced his skills. The Royal Danish Academy of Design became his learning ground, and by 2009, he emerged as a fully-fledged designer, specializing in crafting furniture and spatial wonders.
Vúóng Kim Daniel is a recently graduated designer from Sweden with Vietnamese heritage. He completed his degree in Industrial Design at Lund University in 2024. Daniel’s design approach combines creative exploration with practical thinking. Influenced by Scandinavian design principles and Vietnamese contemporary craftsmanship, he focuses on creating furniture and products that are simple, honest, and personal.
