CARE GUIDE
At Mazo, we design furniture to be enjoyed for years. To help you keep your furniture and lamps looking their best, we’ve put together a simple care guide. With regular dusting and gentle cleaning, you can maintain their quality and appearance in everyday use.
Care guide includes: Upholstery & Textile, Sheepskin, Aluminum, Wood, Glass, Bone China
Upholstery & textile
MAINTENANCE & CLEANING
Protect your upholstery and textiles from direct sunlight and intense heat, as these can cause fading and weaken seams. Regular cleaning is essential to maintain their beauty and longevity. Use a vacuum cleaner with a soft-bristled attachment to remove dust and debris. Be cautious of sharp objects that may damage the fabric.
STAIN REMOVAL
For stains, always check the care instructions for your specific textile first. Refer to the fabric composition details on your furniture to determine the appropriate cleaning method. If you're unsure, we recommend consulting a professional for guidance. For the best results, we always advise reaching out to a professional dry cleaner for expert care.

Sheepskin
Sheepskin is both visually striking and irresistibly soft, offering exceptional durability as upholstery. Defined by its dense, curly fleece, each piece is unique, with variations in texture and appearance. As with most natural materials, differences in structure, density, and thickness are to be expected, making no two pieces of sheepskin identical.

MAINTENANCE & CLEANING
Please note that the wool’s fibers may naturally become entangled over time, and the skin’s ability to maintain its color can vary, especially with sun exposure. To preserve its original tone, we recommend keeping sheepskin-upholstered pieces away from direct sunlight to avoid discoloration.

CLEANING & CARE
To maintain its soft, tactile nature, vacuum weekly. For spills, act quickly by soaking the area with water. For larger stains, place a clean towel over the spill to absorb excess liquid. For cleaning, use a sponge with lukewarm water and mild wool detergent.
Our sheepskin comes from our supplier, Skandilock, where you can also find additional care advice.
Aluminum
Aluminum is a lightweight material, prized for its malleability, strength, and exceptional durability. At Mazo, we embrace its natural beauty by using untreated aluminum in our collections, allowing its inherent qualities to shine. The result? Unique pieces with subtle imperfections that tell their own story. Aluminum is not only durable, but also endlessly recyclable, making it an environmentally conscious choice.

MAINTENANCE & CLEANING
To maintain the beauty of your aluminum pieces, clean with plain water or a mild soap solution. After cleaning, rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth to avoid streaks. Pay extra attention to edges and rivets, ensuring all cleaner residue is removed. Avoid leaving liquid on the surface, as it could cause staining.

PLEASE NOTE
Natural materials like aluminum will develop a beautiful patina over time, adding to their charm and individuality.

Leather
MAINTENANCE & CARE
Leather is a natural material that changes and develops character over time. With the right care, it only gets better.
We often use semi-aniline leather from Sørensen Leather in our collection, but we also offer a wide range of other leather types.

Our leather is ready to use when you receive it - no need for initial treatment. For regular upkeep, vacuum with a soft brush once or twice a month to remove dust. For a deeper clean, use the foam from soap flakes mixed in warm water once or twice a year. Apply the foam with a dry, soft cloth, avoiding direct contact with water.
Steer clear of bar soap, saddle soap, leather cleaners, household detergents, or chemical products, as these can damage the surface. Keep leather away from direct sunlight, excessive heat, and sharp objects to maintain its condition.

How your leather wears over time depends on how you use it - regular care helps it age beautifully.

Wood care
OILED OAK
Oiled oak, whether solid or veneered, is a core material in the Mazo collection, offering a natural look and feel with protective oiling. Over time, it develops a unique patina that enhances its beauty.

We use natural oil or dark smoked oil to finish the oak. Natural oil preserves the wood’s natural glow and color, while smoked oil deepens its tone and character. Variations in texture and color are natural and celebrated.

For daily care, dust with a soft, dry cloth. To clean, wipe with a damp cloth following the wood grain, then dry immediately. For deeper cleaning, use a soap designed for oiled wood. Re-oil the wood annually or whenever it appears dry, but avoid abrasive cleaners. Keep furniture away from direct sunlight, heat, and humidity.

LACQUERED AND STAINED WOOD
Lacquered and stained wood provides a durable, low-maintenance surface with the added benefit of color.
Dust regularly with a soft cloth. Clean with a mild solution of lukewarm water and universal detergent, always following the wood grain, and dry with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh detergents. Like oiled wood, keep lacquered or stained pieces away from direct sunlight, heat, and humidity.

Glass
MAINTENANCE & CARE
Our YUKI Lamp features a fully glass design, with both the top and bottom made of mouth-blown glass. The lampshade can be easily removed for more convenient cleaning.

For daily maintenance, use a soft, dry cloth. For tougher stains, gently wipe with a soft cloth and a standard glass cleaner, then dry with a clean cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners to protect the glass surface.

For mirrors, use a damp clean microfiber cloth for daily cleaning.

Bone China
MAINTENANCE & CARE
Our collection features pieces crafted from bone china, a material known for its delicate beauty and remarkable durability. Bone china is lighter and stronger than traditional porcelain, with a translucent quality that adds an elegant touch.

For daily care, gently wipe with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust or fingerprints. To clean more stubborn marks, use a soft cloth and a mild detergent, followed by drying with another clean, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners and harsh scrubbing, as these can damage the delicate surface.
